Better Medals means exactly that — better in every sense. Better for the planet. Better for the people who make them. Better all round.
When we started, we wanted to prove there’s a different way to run a business. Most medals are mass-produced, flown halfway round the world, and ultimately end up in landfill. The people making them are often underpaid, unseen, and disconnected from the person that receives them. We knew we could do things better.
We’re a not-for-profit community interest company, with a makers’ hub at its heart. Our medals are all made by hand by people who often get shut out of regular work — unpaid carers, single parents, pensioners, people managing health conditions. Not because they can’t work, but because life can be unpredictable.
At Better Medals, our team can drop in when they’re able to, or work from home when it suits, either way they feel part of something bigger. It’s more than just a job — it’s connection, pride, and community.
When a medal leaves our hub, it carries all that with it. Good business should work for everyone involved. We like to think ours does.
